Ramadhan is one of the crucial months for Muslims. For those who are still unfamiliar with Ramadhan, it is a full month for Muslims for fasting, prayer, and faithful intention.
Since Muslim people use Ramadhan to be the period of introspection and a chance to practice self-restraint, I will give you, a Muslim K-drama fan, recommendations of K-dramas that are safe to watch during the holy month.
1. Missing Nine
Missing Nine is a drama about nine people who were lost in the jungle because of a plane accident. This drama’s genre is thriller, survival, and adventure. I think these genres are in a safe zone to watch. There are few romance scenes. The drama focuses on the surviving journey.
2. The Uncanny Counter
This drama tells about a group of people who are Counters. A group of devil-spirits-hunters. They through so many obstacles to finish their missions and each of them has special abilities. The Uncanny Counter mostly tells about fantasy and mystery aspects. Moreover, the friendship and family feature is included in the drama as well.
3. Hello, Me!
Hello, Me! Is the safest drama to watch on Ramadhan. Since it ended a few days ago, Hello, Me! Is still captured in the K-drama fans’ hearts. Hello, Me! Is a time-travel drama. The main lead (Bahn Ha-ni) met with herself twenty-years-ago. The story is about the efforts to send the-young-Hani to go back to the past. Besides, they also tell about the old-Hani to face the struggle of adult life. (Be careful of the tears that will come out suddenly!)
4. Pegasus Market
This drama is considered an underrated comedy-drama. You will burst out laughing because of their weird acts and storyline. Pegasus Market includes family, comedy, friendship, teamwork, and a slice of life for their genre. 100% recommended to sweep out your boredom while you wait for iftar.
5. Beyond Evil
A thriller drama! Beyond Evil focuses on an investigation of serial murder. Be careful! You might get zu’udzon when you are trying to guess who the murderer is. Thrilling and successfully make you realize your wait for iftar is already done.
6. Just Dance
Missing Jang Do Yoon? Just Dance will entertain you with its school life concept. Seven aspiring students from Gyeongsang will provide you with their teamwork and spirit to win the dance-sport competitions.
7. Navillera
A warming and healing ongoing drama! Navillera portrayed a 70-years-old who has a dream of performing ballet. This drama focused on family and self-improvement. Watchful for the sad feeling that could be obtained from watching the drama! But still, it is very good to watch.
8. So Not Worth It
This drama is Netflix's newest drama which consists of 12 episodes. Tells about the life of an international dormitory at a university. There are so many things and small problems in their life that make us laugh and wonder at the weird and unique behavior of international students. The story is very light and can be entertaining.
Those are all dramas that I could recommend, all of them are delightful dramas. However, since we have to control ourselves in Ramadhan, I suggest you not watch too many romantic activities between non-mahram couples. So, I limited the drama and excluded the romance genre with kissing or too many skinship scenes to be careful. I also exclude the dramas which contain excessive emotions so that we could watch the dramas without any worry.
I hope you guys enjoy your fasting during Ramadhan and acquire so many blessings. Besides watching K-dramas, do not forget to use the time for getting closer to Allah SWT and doing other productive activities.
Happy watching!
